Headstone/Monument

A slab of stone set up at the head of a grave, typically inscribed with the family name, and can also have the names of the deceased on it as well.

Grave, Pillow, and Foot Markers

A stone generally used with a monument, placed on the ground, at the foot of the grave for individual deceased family members who are represented by the family monument.

May also be used without accompanying monument as a stand alone on the ground at the head of the grave. 

They can be either bevel or flat. Bevel means slight slant whereas flats are flush with the ground.

Are also in the marker category, it stands upright, is thin at the top and slants down to a thicker bottom, the slant face is used for the inscription.

Is a flat piece of granite or marble that lays entirely over top of a single grave.
